  • Drama therapy in the second half of life and with older adults.  Therapeutic autobiographical  theatre and life story work for older adults, including  people living with dementia. Playfulness and dementia, and dramatherapy to support caregivers of persons with dementia. Dr. Dovrat Harel also specializes in the field of sexual assault against  women in late life and in the development of arts-based programs to support these women. 

     

  • Dr. Dovrat Harel is a lecturer at Tel Hai College (Israel). She has a long experience in teaching drama therapy courses in graduate programs (The University of Haifa, The Academic College of Society and Arts, Netanya - Kiryat Ono and Tel Hai College). In addition, Dovrat teaches several courses for welfare and healthcare professionals in the field of gerontology at JDC Israel (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee)- Eshel. Dovrat accomplished two postdoctoral programs in the Department of Gerontology at the University of Haifa (Israel) and in the School of Social Work at Bar Ilan University (Israel). She takes an active part in promoting the recognition of the benefit of creative arts therapies with the older population, academically and practically. Dovrat is invited to teach her areas of expertise at various conferences and seminars in Israel and abroad. Following her first Postdoctoral research, she gained an extensive experience in the field of sexual assault against women in late life. This expertise leads her to teach the subject in different settings for welfare and healthcare professionals, including units for the welfare of the elderly in the ministry of social services, the National Insurance, and JDC-Eshel.
