Prof. Snait Tamir

Coming from the Department of Nutritional Science, where she served as the chairperson of the department and later as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Prof. Tamir has a proven record of leadership and scholarship. She earned her Bachelor degree and Ph.D at the Hebrew University, and then obtained her Post Doc position at MIT. Prof. Tamir's research and work focus primarily, but not exclusively, on various issues relating to nutrition and health: endothelial function and how it is affected by diet and\or nutrients, as well as its influence on cardiovascular related diseases, fatty liver, obesity and longevity. Recently, her interest and exposure to research questions pertaining to public health, has led her to study the effects of diet-driven microbiota alterations on quality of life, state of health, insomnia and mood status among elderly.
