Areas of Interest

Philosophy

Research

·         Involved Philosophy: my objective is to galvanize a pro-active, interdisciplinary and involved line of research in order to study constitutive eco-social concepts (such as ‘locality’, ‘identify’ and ‘quality’) that may de-stabilize hierarchical boundaries within the academia, and between the academia and its surroundings.

·         Philosophy of Science: the intersection of biological facts, values, databases and the different meanings of basic scientific concepts such as ‘location’,  ‘space’, ‘time’ and ‘replication’. A localized history of these concepts, how they are recorded in the field, archived in databases and transformed into working protocols and policy.

·         Evolution of Altruism and Cooperation: A study of the different meaning of ‘group’ and ‘group selection’, their link to interactive models such as ‘niche construction’ and ‘ecological engineering’ and the history of ideologies linked to the debates over the evolution of altruism and cooperation.
